Carly Rae Jepsen Releases “Boy Problems” Music Video

Carly Rae Jepsen, our favourite pop artist after Taylor Swift, has released a music video for her new single “Boy Problems”. The song comes off last year’s Emotion – an absolutely underrated album that saw Jepsen moving away from the bubblegum pop legacy she had established for herself with “Call Me Maybe”. The music video is glittering affair depicting various girls suffering from what can only be described as “boy problems”, and their friends who really don’t to hear about their dating woes.

The video features cameos from Barbie Ferreira, Diana Veras and Tavi Gevinson, and was directed by Petra Collins – an exquisite artist. Jepsen said the following about working with Petra: “Out of the blue, Petra reached out to ask if she could make a video for her favorite track of the album-Boy Problems. What she didn’t know is that I had been following her online via Instagram and other outlets for a while and had become a HUGE fan of her photographs and artwork. I think she has a very gifted eye for a refreshing look at youth and beauty and the way she plays with color always stands out to me. So the answer was an immediate YES! We met that first day in New York and were giddy with creating something new together and I am so pleased for how the dark and glittery scenes we imagined turned out. I hope you enjoy it!
