Dunno if it’s really deserving, but I just went to my first-ever festival this past weekend (Daisies) with my festival veteran boyfriend and the bug absolutely bit me (and not just literally). I heard from friends that Endless Daze is the best one of the year, and we made a pact get there at any cost. This plan is currently being a bit hindered by post-Daisies poverty, though. 4 November is also the last weekend away that we could have together before I move away for work. So I can’t think of anyone who would make more of this than we would.

Moon Duo is my favourite international act, but my heart beats faster thinking of Hezron Chetty and Medicine Boy live (I’ve seen both numerous times live this year, and each time was a different, amazing experience — SUCH a big fan) and then, of course, Skeleton Coast!

My favourite thing about Endless Daze is the entire line-up,but also my friends that are already going (simply cannot have a bad time with them around). And, from what I’ve heard, the kind of people who attend are my kind of folks. I cannot wait to bask in a weekend of amazing local and international talent, chilled vibes and good friends. Heading to Facebook now to spam my newsfeed with this!

    a) I’ve heard rumors that the quickest way to hop in a time-vault – continuum transfunctioner to be more precise- and travel to the 60s psych rock era is in your little ford cortina and travelling 50km from Cape Town to Silwerstroom and experiencing the Endless Daze festival (queue background music and shoot lightning in the air through a tasty guitar solo crafted by Hendrix himself’). I’ve heard from a couple of festivalers that it’s one of the coolest festival that they’ve been us. Small, intimate and downright amazing! One hell of rock slumber party. I’ve always believed that a 60s era soul lives in me…something about that era that resonates very deep with me – After all the Psychedelic era was the time of social, musical and artistic change that emphasized unity, the breaking down of boundaries, the heightening of political awareness, empathy with others, and the questioning of authority. I think it’s an very important time for such mentality to prosper in. I regretted it strong not going last year, would absolutely love to go this year for the first time!

    b) My favorite international is the Oh Sees. Super awesome garage/noise band. John Dwyer is a beast even so that I’ve heard that the quickest way to comb your hair backwards is by sticking your head to the speakers and waiting for John Dwyer to strum a ferocious riff that will not only comb your hair backwards but drop your panties as well! I love their new album Orc…manic and intense from start to finish and I like it! Moon Duo is also super sick! Space

    C) I think one of the coolest things is being next to the beach. How awesome it must be to go dip your tiptoes in the ocean, go for a surf and then watching very cool rock/folk/psych/”insert genre” bands in between…I don’t think. That’s probably why everyone is so chilled and unpretentious there and why carefree happy vibes constantly get’s thrown in your face. I quite a breather that new festivals such as Endless Daze emerges…a bit of a break of the ordinary…super keen!

    A) I deserve to win tickets to Endless Daze Festival because my parents made the terrible decision of raising me in Johannesburg where we don’t have any ocean, Helen Godzille or a thriving ‘psych’ scene that would promote a 2nd leg for this incredible line-up. It would be my first time attending Endless Daze and an epic opportunity to road trip to Cape Town with my brother.

    B) My favourite international act is most definitely the “Oh Sees” and I’d feel like a real Carrion/Crawler if I were to miss them. If that’s not enough, there’s also the fact that Blk Jks, Medicine Boy, The Tazers and Hello Beautiful are all on display – some of SA’s finest local talent.

    C) My favourite thing or impression that I’ve gotten from this festival is that unlike all the other major events you see taking place these days that always play it safe and bring over “Mr. Commercial that’s guaranteed to sell tickets because you hear them on 5FM every half hour”, the guys and girls behind this festival aren’t scared to go out on a limb and bring over incredible acts that might not be everybody’s cup of tea – making for a seriously intimate gathering of like-minded peeps that know what good music sounds like.

    a) I deserve to win the tickets because I hand in my thesis at the end of October and it would be the best way to celebrate. I have never been to this festival and would love to go to a festival like endless daze. I’ve heard such wonderful things about it from my friends and really want to experience more festivals with substance.

    b) My favorite international act would have to be the oh sees I love the how different and psychedelic their sound is.

    c) I love that it is such an intimate festival. That I can wonder about like a free spirit without having to worry about losing my friends or mission to many different places. Intimate festivals also allow one the opportunity to make friends with groovy kind souls. Big festivals can be overwhelming.

As of today, I am starting a Facebook campaign for these tickets!

Also, if there’s anyone I could bribe, lemme know.

Ok here we go- This would be my first endless daze festival, I heard of it last year but couldn’t go because I was finishing my third year at college. Deserve is a weird word to use but I’d love to win tickets to go to a festival that I expect is (hopefully) just people that like the music and isn’t there for a pill popping festival, as you say. I always enjoy a show more when I see the people around me (friends or strangers) are having a good time with the music act.

I think you don’t reply know a band or music act until you’ve seen them live and I’m a wee bit stressed with my financial situation at the moment so the tickets would be amazing.

My favorite acts would be Thee Oh Sees and Hello Beautiful, I’ve never seen either live.

Something exciting that I’ve heard from a friend, who’s a die hard psych night fan, said last years Endless Daze set up was small and intimate and it was easy to be carefree and wander on your own.

Thanks for doing the competition guys!
