After their tour of Switzerland for Zermatt Unplugged we will be treated to the rockers from Down Under, The Temper Trap. They’ve played some of the biggest shows and festivals all across the globe and will surely bring this experience and aura to put on a truly fantastic show. I am also so excited to head back into The Woods for some of the best EDM the country has to offer, and is there a bigger artist on the scene right now than Timo ODV? His set in The Woods is sure to be a visual and sound sensory overload that will keep me going all weekend!

This House line up! Kyle Watson and Chunda Munki are always a treat but I am most excited to see Niko Schwind and Oliver Koletzki since I have never seen them live before. PLEASE LET ME!

I really want to see Jeremy Loops, he is the ultimate icon that proves that South Africans have got the talent to be just as great internationally as they are locally! As for the international act, I would love to see The Temper Trap, I have heard some insane things about their live shows, and can’t wait to experience it myself!

Man, how can I choose? Locally, we are so blessed to have tons of good acts gracing the stages of Lush. I’m not saying I’m not excited to see all of these lovely artists but BCUC is definitely topping my can’t-wait-to-party-my-face-off-to-their-awesome-tunes list. They have always brought THE most unbelievable presence to a stage and I have never been able to keep my feet still to the magical tinging and twanging of those instruments (Not to mention those golden voices)!
And then, no other than The Temper Trap. My sister and I discovered this band years ago when we would spend our Saturdays listening to random albums at the Look & Listen down the road from us. I remember standing there, sharing the earphones with her. As that first song started playing, we looked up at each other only to release a soft little gasp of amazement. We stood there in silence going through every single song. We fell in love with their delicious hip-shaking grooves right there.
Overly excited we put our pennies together to buy it and listened to it day in and day out; in the car; the DVD player, our CD players, our friends CD players; EVERYWHERE. Needless to say that they have remained on both of our ‘frequently played’ playlists and we still have that twinkle in our eye when we look up at each other when a tune of theirs comes on.
Another reason we would both sell limbs to be at this specific festival is that she works out of the country for a year at a time, only visiting us for about 3 weeks. This festival falls on the last weekend that I get to enjoy her laughs and her boogie-moves so I would literally be over the moon if I could surprise her with tickets to get lost in some beautiful South African music and of course, to share a front-row spot with her, in front of one of our favourite bands.

Well obviously the Temper Trap is the best international band that will play at Lush, the ultimate reason I want to go! Also, I know all their songs and not just the one that played in 500 Days of Summer.

Locally, it has to be Timo ODV. That guy has more talent in his pinkie finger than most so-called “rappers” in South Africa combined. Two different genres, I know. Anyway, when you hear Timo ODV’s sound, it’s so advanced. I was shocked to learn that he is from Kempton Park.

Listen, I live for music and festivals. I would REALLY EALLY love those tickets, it would make the last year – April to April – which was absolutely horrible, just so much better.

I’m so excited or next weekend! The Temper Trap are absolutely amazing and seeing them live is a dream come true! Watching them in the heart of Clarens as part of their world tour with the most beautiful scenery and friends will be priceless!

My favourite local act on the lineup is drum and bass representative,T-Stak! Watching him close the stage in the woods is gonna be such a special, proud moment, and the whole dance floor is gonna be packed!

Lush was honestly the best festival I went to in 2016 and the year is gonna be even more spectacular!

I would love to see Niko Schwind and Oliver Koletzki just because of them being from Germany! Such a lovely culture they have there and a great music scene! The main reasoning for this festival though, must be the local acts! There is such a talented line up like Karen Zoid and Francois van Coke. I find it hard to believe that they wont be performing the same night, as they have the best single together! So yes! The main reason I would love to go the Lush Festival is to go see both Karen Zoid and Francois van Coke perform “Toe vind ek jou”!!!

Big ups to SA Music Scene for hosting this competition!
