Win: Park Acoustics August Tickets

There just is something special about Park Acoustics every month at Die Voortrekker Monument. Maybe it’s the new faces, or the old faces you always get to see.  Maybe it’s the way that each Park Acoustics Sunday is 95% a sun-shining day.  Maybe it’s all the bands giving it their all on stage and getting the crowd amped.  Or maybe it’s the way to cure the weekend blues with the promise of a beautiful week after sunset.

We have been to many a Park Acoustics over the years, and it only gets better every month.  Last month we had a bunch of travelling bands (except for Bad Peter) on the line-up like Veranda Panda busy with their Winter Tour, The Vanilla & Floors who came up North for a few tours and Early Hours who just were in town for this rad Sunday.

All the bands before the headlining Die Heuwels Fantasties, made sure of a great chilled vibe at the fort, with people dancing and swaying, a drink in hand and no worries in their eyes.

When Heuwels came on stage, their sound was a bit too loud. It reminded me of PH FAT’s set at OppiKoppi the one year, where I was basically standing between the speakers and I thought to myself, this fort is too small to contain this sound.  But their set still was rad, playing some new tracks from OKAY!, as well as all the nostalgic oldies like “Sonrotse” that their fans all love.  It was really good to see them on stage and so far, their shows this year are making me excited to see what they will bring to OppiKoppi this year, since they haven’t been on the line-up for a while.

This month’s Park Acoustics will be featuring Shortstraw, Crimson House, We Are Charlie, Native Young, The Ceramics and Missu!  It’s almost like a Boosh, but bigger. See you there!

“Let’s Stare At The Sun” by We Are Charlie cause you get to spend a day out in the Pretoria sunshine listening to your favourite songs and dancing along as Spring makes it’s way to this beautiful city. Also it’s the day after my birthday and the only gift I could need is to be able to stare at the sun from the Monument.
