It has to be Dan Patlansky. As one of the greatest blues guitarists in the world, seeing him tear up the Park Acoustics stage is going to be magical!

It’s very difficult to choose which band I want to see more at this month’s Blues Park Acoustics – mainly because they have all crept into my heart over the years! I’ll share some of my favourite gigs with you now. I first saw Dan Patlansky when he shredded Hendrix at STRAB in 2010, and of course, The Oh So Serious when they recorded their 15-instrument album at the Tweefontein Melkery later that year. I will also never forget the last show that Tidal Waves did with Jaco Mans (guitar) at Arcade’s Birthday Party and Gerald Clark performing at Oppikoppi while the entire crowd began swaying in the breeze during his Top Bar set. So, for me, I guess I really want to see Wolfgang Marrow and Searching Silence. They are new on my radar and I wonder how they would stack up against the incredible artists you have in the running order this month. Can’t wait to find out :))
