Win Tickets To Electric Vines

The New Years calendar is packed full of brilliant events and it can often be tough choosing which event to attend. Electric Vines entered into the calendar last year as just another music festival, but managed to prove itself as a viable contender for being one the best New Years parties around. Last year it took place in Robertson, which is a bit of a trek but this year the venue is Wildekrans Wine Estate – a mere 90kms away from Cape Town.

However, the enticing part is not the venue which sports a dam and river that allows for Electric Vines to follow in the tradition of many South African festivals and include a Beach Bar to showcase some of South Africa’s best electronic talent. The enticing part is the absolutely massive line-up that has been secured. So far, the line-up includes Goldfish, Desmond and the Tutus, Shortstraw, Red Tape Riot, The Kiffness, Al Bairre, Niskerone, PHFAT, Los Tacos, Nomadic Orchestra, Veranda Panda, Grace De La Hunt and many more. This is the kind of New Years festival that has been created for all those people who do not want to have to deal with the crowds at the Waterfront, be cramped at Kirstenbosch, or be hit by a barrage of electronic music. It is your idyllic indie meets mainstream electronic music festival and even comes complete with its own luxury camping package provided by G3 – a global company who shall be making their debut in South Africa with Electric Vines.

If you’re looking to get tickets but find yourself a bit low on cash then do not despair because South African Music Scene have partnered with Electric Vines to bring you a chance to win one of two double sets of tickets. All you have to do is comment with which artist you wish to see the most and why you deserve to win tickets. The first winner shall be announced on 26 November, and the second on 17 December.

SHORTSTRAW. PH FAT. GOLDFISH. Local is lekker! I deserve to win tickets because I do not have enough cash money for this festival 🙁 So after my 2nd year at university working hard I would love to play even harder and end the year off with a BANG which is what I am sure Electric Vines will take care of! 😀 (plus you guys dominate over all other NYE parties with that line up)

I would be super amped to see SHORTSTRAW, as I’m a huge supporter of local music and just love them to bits.

Why do I deserve the tickets to Electric Vines?
I’m sure everyone has a funny or clever answer to that one. I’m a second year student and pay for my own fees, so unfortunately I don’t have the kind of extra cash one needs to purchase a ticket. I will have serious FOMO if I miss out this year!!! Music is what brings us together! I’ll go on my knees for you if u have to, obs meaning knees to beg 😉

Most importantly, I’ll be electricstonish if I win :):)

Al Bairre!!!! My cousin introduced me to these guys when I first moved to Cape Town. Lately we have grown apart and Al Bairre reminds me of a time when our lives were so much simpler. She is the only family I have in Cape Town and life is too short to go around not living it to the fullest. It would be great to win tickets to this event and to try re-connect with her. Also, I have never had a New Years in Cape Town. I always end up going home or to the west coast. It would be a great experience and last year totally sucked!! I have also not had a weekend off apart from rocking the daisies since June so is say that this would be a much needed escape!!!

I want to see Desmond and the Tutus, Shortstraw, Al Bairre, and PHFAT. Yes, that is more than one, but all of these artists make me so happy, I can’t think of a better way to bring in the new year other than all smiles!

Great muso’s coming together creating an experience for thousands to share! This is definitly my type of NYE 🙂 I would love to meet micasa but support all the SA locals doing what they love.

Why should you choose to bless me with these tickets? I am getting maried on the 6th of Jan 2016. NYE 2012-2013 was our first kiss and this will be our last NYE before we get maried. I would love to surprise my fiance with these tickets!! We are paying for the wedding ourselves so there is no cash flow for this amazing experience. Please make this NYE super special for us!!!

Al Bairre, Desmond and the Tutus and Short Straw
NYE has always left something to be desired. I have never had a great new years, I usually find myself sitting amongst people twice my age(usually my family)watching them have a good time in some obscure location wanting to have a little fun. You might ask my don’t you go to one of those trance festivals? Quite frankly I despise trance and clubs, I would only go to a club where there was a live band with a good vibe, interaction with the crowd and sing your heart out. I a love a good party and Electric vinez is that awesome vibe that I am looking for, one of the few festivals out there with soul and what a great year it would be to end it off with such a great event with a great reputation.

    Yours truly
The one looking for a soulful NYE to remember.

One of my best friends moved back to PE to be with her family in difficult times this year. She absolutely loves the music scene in Jo’burg, it’s one of the things she misses the most about moving to PE. Two of her favourite bands are Goldfish and Al Bairre – she’s so excited about this festival. I would love to win tickets to take her with and make her year! Thanks

I’m just here to confirm Maderi Hoffman’s entry. Please make our NEW YEARS! We love all the local acts especially SHORTSTRAW. Also, she’s going a bit crazy as she’s busy studying all day, everyday. THIS WILL MAKE US SO HAPPY SA Music Scene <3 <3 <3 I think we should win these tickets I think we really deserve them! After hard work at varsity, I think It is time for a break and Electric Vines would be the best opportunity for that!! It would be our first year going to Electric Vines and I am hoping WE will get the chance to experience it by winning!! It would make the whole experience that much more special!! *holding thumbs*

Good morning, sunshine. I’m heaps keen for SHORTSTRAW because they are my all time favourite SA band. I wouldn’t mind stop being a couch potato so that I can feel youthless when rocking out to them in my Shortstraw Christmas sweater even though it would be bikini weather.

My love for drum and bass(especially Niskerone) is like the love between Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.I’m over bringing in the new year in the same place. Electric Vines would be perfect for me to spread the coconut love and bring nothing but good vibes and great banter!
