Win with Quarry Summer Concert Series!

Situated in the heart of the Durbanville Wine Valley, Hillcrest Wine Estate’s function and event venue, The Quarry, has been the home to numerous weddings, functions, festivals and concerts over the past years. This hidden gem is situated in the old historic, rehabilitated quarry on the Hillcrest Wine and Olive Estate in Durbanville, Cape Town. The Quarry has a 7000 square meters of rolling lawns and a 15 000 square meter lake with a function venue which can accommodate and cater for a wide selection of events, including the Quarry Summer Concert series.

The Quarry Summer Concerts will host a collection of heavyweight bands and combine them with bands that deserve the exposure. These concerts aim to host bands like Johnny Clegg, Mango Groove and the best of SA’s live acts. Make sure you connect with Hillcrest Quarry on all social media to keep connected what is happening. For now Hillcrest Quarry will kick off with these two dates, with much more to be released soon.

9 November – The Parlotones

Quarry Summer Concerts kicks off with South African heavyweight band The Parlotones .Musicians Kahn Morbee (lead vocals and guitar), Paul Hodgson (guitar) Glenn Hodgson (bass and keyboards) and Neil Pauw (drums) have been making music since 2003 when they started playing in various venues that would host them.Nowadays they’re one of South Africa’s biggest-selling bands, with a huge list of accomplishments and awards behind their name.

To open for The Parlotones is The Black Cat Bones who needs no introduction on our local music front. You can expect an intense rollercoaster live performance and hard rocking tunes. This band will take you on the ride of your life. A must see for all. Also hot on the line up is Red Tape Riot & DJ Adrian Gemini.

30 November – Prime Circle

The multi award-winning band, Prime Circle, recently released their 6th studio album, ‘Let the night in’, which is proving just as succesful as previous releases. Prime Circle proves that after 13 years in the music scene they deserve their firm place in the industry as ever. With a high amount of awards and nominations, Prime Circle shows no signs of slowing down.

Opening bands include Filth, Reburn & DJ Adrian Gemini.

    I’ve had the honour of meeting the band in person once and was blown away by how humble they are. They are genuine guys who really care about treating their fans with respect. They are down to earth which makes me want to support them even more. Talented musicians and down to earth – definite winners in my books!

    I would LOVE to win tickets to Prime Circle. We went the last time they were done but didn’t realize we could bring our kids with. My son (8) and daughter (3) LOVE Prime Circle and constantly listen and sing to all their tracks. we want to take them with this time to see them… we have not told them yet as we want it to be a surprise.

    I would love to see Prime Circle at this venue again! We went last year and it was absolutely amazing!

    I’m exited to hear the songs off their new album live. I bought the album a couple of weeks ago and can’t get enough of it! Definately one of my favourite albums!

    Prime circle! I have loved them for years! Such awesome lyrics with rocking melodies. I remember sneaking out on a schoool night when i was 15 to go watch them for the first time and 7 years later im still a huge fan!

    Cape Town Hillcrest 9 November 2014, so far I have been going to 2 The Parlotones concerts a year for the past 3 years, however was not able to attend any concers this year, myself, family and alot of friendss will enjoying fresh music on a picturesque wine farm. See you there

    I would love to see Prime Circle, because not only are they one of my favourite bands of all time, but their music speaks to me. Ross Learmonth is also one of my main musical influences, and he has inspired to go further with my songwriting. It would also be an amazing experience to see them live.

    PRIME CIRCLE… What a question! These guys absolutely rock and I would sooo love to see them live for the first time. I also admire new up and coming SA talent and would seriously “schmaak” to see the opening acts of Filth and Reburn, whom I have never seen live before. To quote one of my favourite tunes by Reburn… “Let me in” (pleez)! Rock on SA talent!
