We are super stoked and excited for the first a Place In The Sun, happening next weekend from 17 to 20 November at Nkwe Pleasure Resort just outside Garsfontein.  Getting you amped and ready, we have two interviews with some of the bands there – and our first interview is with Urban Village.

You recently did a very successful #LiveAndReYired collaboration with Yfm. How did you find this experience?
It was good playing live on a radio station – it felt surreal as it was a combination of on air and live audience.

At the end of October, you’ll be performing at Jam Jozi. What are your expectations for your set there?
We were curious about the kind of audience that would be there – we didn’t know how the set up woulb be like. And it exposed us to a different alternative music scene is Joburg.

Earlier this month, you performed at The Good Luck Bar’s first birthday celebrations. What was that like?
It was an honour because we have been playing there since it’s inception. It feels like an acheivement to be still celebrated as a band at TGLB.

You’ve had a very busy performance calendar this year. Which has been your favourite so far?
Fete De La Musique was crazy! We saw energy manifesting throughout the performance. Oppikoppi was both exciting and nerve-wrecking as there was some level of expectancy from festival goers. It turned out to be an awarding experience.

This November, you will be playing at A Place in the Sun. Since this festival is completely new, how do you plan on preparing for your set?
We are not sure what to expect but we are taking out all our guns.

What are your expectations for the festival itself?
Definitely meeting fellow artists and bands and perhaps planting seeds for collabotarion. We also look forward to lots of sun shine and bright skies!

Which songs can fans expect to hear during your set at the festival?
Our brand new song, Impala, as well as Guitar Giants and Makolo.

What is your favourite song to perform live?
Makolo! Everyone loves it.

Is there anything new in the pipeline for the band?
We would love to grow the Urban Village brand and focusing on recording an album and video.
